    methanol/nitrous

Has anyone out there used a small 50 hp methanol nitrous combo
a buddy and I are looking into this, He has a twin turbo on a 350 in a pickup and is looking for something to bring up his turbos on the line .
I am looking at it as a really good way to cool the inlet charge on a hot cast intake and get a lttile more oomph out of my stock engine.

I have not heard of this combo???? Why is it better then just using a single power adder??? Is it for "extreme" heat intake conditions???

This is what were thinking ,the cooling of the inlet charge especially on the turbo motor would be a advantage getting the turbos to spool up quicker.
My buddie built his own turbo syst with 2 6.5 diesel turbos, they work great but are slow to spool up
And as my intake is a big hot chunk of cast iron it may be benificial for cooling it down.

Is he running gas and spraying nitrous and methanol? If so, I've never heard of that combination. Now a lot of guys shoot nitrous on alcohol motors and you do get really low chamber temps.

thats the idea, the turbo truck right now is running a methanol water injection syst that seems to help some to cool the intake temp. this is why we are kicking around the meathanol nitrous combo. found some stuff on the internet fro the combo on snowmobiles but not much on cars

Reduce the size of the "Snail shell" on that "hair drier". It will spool up the way you want and won't reduce top end charge because the heat exchange factor.
What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

nitrous on a diesel does nothing, thats why they use propane injection

We have local boys using the nitrous and propane injection on their diesels here. My sand rail buddy specializes in such a thing and it's wicked what they're putting out and no detriment to the engine.

the turbos are off a 6.5 engine on a 350 chevy which are slow to spool by design, just trying to get then to spin up faster on the line

i run nos on my diesel and picked up 55hp to the rear tires. you can spray the 50shot into the inlet side of the turbo and it helps spool it. but if you have never played with it be very careful the turbo doesn't look good when the engine pops or misses.. come to think of it i real never seen the whole turbo again when it happened...

when you inject nitrous compared to propane into a diesel its night and day. Big power gains with nitrous. Propane is lazy gain where the nitrous is more violent reaction.
