 Ok I am trying to take this drum off and look at the wheel bearings on my 51 Chevy Deluxe but there is this little spacer or washer thing but there is this little spacer or washer thing that I do not know how to get out can somebody help me please that I do not know how to get out can somebody help me please

 I've got the same brakes on the front of my '39 Dodge. Chevy in those years didn't use roller bearings like today, they used ball bearings in a cage. All that you should have is the cotter pin, nut, big washer with a notch to the inside, then the outer bearing assembly. You should be able to wiggle the drum around once the nut is off, and the bearings should pop out.
 
 If your drum is not coming off, one possiblility is that the shoes are adjusted up too tight to release the drum. Back off on the star wheel a lot, and see if that helps. If it doesn't, maybe the end of the spindle is boogered up. If the shoes are loose, and the nut is off, the whole drum assembly slips right off. There is no other retainer, as you mentioned. What you are seeing is the outer bearing assembly.

 Thanks for the help, I got it off though, I just bumped a bit with the drum and it came off
