    Sweet....
    Just an idea....
    Would it be possible to attach the wood with the regular hold down strips, but route the wood down so that the strip is LOWER than the wood... THEN attach strips of diamond plate to the tops of stock strips with bonding adhesive or 3m trim tape?
    If that is possible... it would look cool because there would be no holes in the diamond strips!
