Good question - I've always wondered the same.
Perhaps rather than a brand name, someone will comment on which paint type is best.
If you are blasting the parts, DupliColor self-etching primer has worked well for me. It gives a good protective and adhesive surface. And it sprays on real easy, as it has a wide 'fan' nozzle. For suspension parts, I don't think the cover coat choice is that important if a good primer is applied first.
The fan nozzle definately applies a better coat of paint as it allows the ability to properly overlap the previous pass.
