    Shawn....leave it there....I noticed "coast" side pattern on the last pic. You have good patterns for doing this and not knowing how hard or soft your material is, I'd leave it. If backlash specs are correct, you won't have noise and you won't chew up these gears where they are now.

    Well I used the image of the metal murphy to run the other murphy off and this is what I have now.......I think it may need a few thousandths more on the pinion shim,the back lash is .014 now.The added pinion shim should also close the lash up a little more.?

    It was at .029 thick,its now at .035 thick{the current pics},I just moved it to .037 and have some new pics....it still looks like it could stand .003 more...
    I will post the new pics at .037 here in a sec.The backlash is at .013 now.

    I know my arm and hand hurt from manually pressing the bearing on and off 1 more time is no big deal now
