The MSD case appears to be 5.25" diameter by about 4.6" long, not including the output stud on the back or the pulley on the front.....if you need closer measurement, we can put a caliper on it.
I am not aware of any smaller diameter alternators unless you go to some ricer sized stuff....maybe an alternator shop might know.

10 thumbs up on the truck build!!!!
I would make sure you were happy with the alt choice and where it will be located......after you complete that ride I would not want to do much re engineering,....just alot of cruising!!!!!
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

How big around is yours, Bob? How long is it?
I've heard that the oriental ones are smaller.

Bob, You must have misunderstood my alternator questions.....I wouldnt have
tried to mislead you...would I?
There may be small motorcycle or industrial alternators also.

Okay, I found the guy who sells these with the bracket. He pitches it as for use with electric pump, but if you've got V belt pulleys it lines up fine for a mechanical pump.

He also does a serpentine belt arrangement in another listing.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
