Ken, have you looked at the MSD alternators? I have one here that I can take pictures and measure.....you should be able to do a bracket that holds
it low and use the corvette tensioner so the alternator is mounted in a fixed (not adjustable) location. I have the tensioners too to take pics of. I assume that this is for your LS7 motor.....

Mike- it's for my truck. I am using a unisteer rack and one of John Butera's aluminum blocks from his indy car. The one I have is about 6" in diameter. It's to big so I thought Simone might know of something else. How big is the MSD?Quote:

I am not aware of any smaller diameter alternators unless you go to some ricer sized stuff....maybe an alternator shop might know.

Thanks Mike, that's about the size of one I have. I think your right I will look at the  ricers.
10 thumbs up on the truck build!!!!
I would make sure you were happy with the alt choice and where it will be located......after you complete that ride I would not want to do much re engineering,....just alot of cruising!!!!!:3dSMILE:

How big around is yours, Bob? How long is it?
I've heard that the oriental ones are smaller.

There may be small motorcycle or industrial alternators also.

Okay, I found the guy who sells these with the bracket. He pitches it as for use with electric pump, but if you've got V belt pulleys it lines up fine for a mechanical pump.

He also does a serpentine belt arrangement in another listing.
