Recommendations for rear-end work near South Bend, IN?
Hey all,
I decided to swap the 8.2 10-bolt in my '68 Camaro for an 8.5 out of a 74 Nova. 12-Bolts are too scarce and expensive for my weekend cruises around town, and it sounds like the 8.5 can be built pretty solid. Can anyone recommend a good shop and/or individual in the Northern Indiana area for this type of rear end work? I'll want to have the 8.5 built with an Eaton posi, possibly some Moser 30-spline axles, etc.
Thanks in advance for the input...

I'll be calling Moser tomorrow. I just didn't want to pass up a good resource in the Elkhart/South Bend area while driving south.
As for the title, yeah - I know. I just couldn't think of a way to phrase the question better. Should've stayed with "diff" instead of "rear end". I guess that's one of our hobby's inside jokes...Don't ride/drive faster than your Guardian Angel can fly...

Thanks Big, but my '68 currently has the 3:08 8.2 as well. The 8.5 ring gear is about 30% thicker, and many of the members on www.camaros.net have made this swap as well. Seems like the 8.2s are getting much easier to find, while the 12-bolts and now the 8.5s are getting more scarce...Don't ride/drive faster than your Guardian Angel can fly...
