    64 Impala Help Needed

I bought a 1964 Impala 2dr hardtop 327 P/G for $1 from my grandfather, it was his fathers car! Thats right my great grandfathers all original 65,077 mile car! I do not get around the Chevy stuff to much I'm a True and BLUE Ford man and have a couple ?'s : where might I find a trim tag on the car, what is the piece that meets between the decklid and the back glass its rusted out up under, where the weather stripping track is. Any help is appreciated.

If I remember correctly, the trim tag is on the firewall..... as for the panel, may have been called a filler panel....???? Hopefully someone will correct me on either or both questions if I'm wrong....

Have you found it yet?? Open the hood , look on the passenger side in the cowl area, just above the firewall,6 inches above the heater core housing, 1 foot from the passenger side of the car. Suprise!! Its right there in back of the rubber moulding. Or should I say, that's where its been on the 2- 64 SS Impalas that I have owned. Good Luck!

Yes Mike, You're right, There is no hood on my car. I did go to the garage, climb over the junk , look at my plate to make sure I was giving out accurate information. One of these days when I get tired of spending on the Fatboy, I may find the lacking motorvation to finish the 64. I hope so anyway, It's in the way.

Mike I'd hate to say how many 64 impala coupes I've owned It started in 64 with a brand new one and untill 3 years ago I had at least 2 at a time. Now I wonder where my head was for selling them

A few more rides like yesterday and I may start back on the 64. At least it has a heater. When I left for a ride ,it was about 66 degrees. When I got home at 9:45 last night, it was 41 degrees. Wind Chill at 55 mph takes that down to 10 degrees. With an open face helmet,'' That's Cold"
