They are definately 12V. They were working but I had to yank them out to change my plates. One of the wires for the left light I had to cut where it entered the harness. The wiring on this car has some issues (I hate WIRE NUTZ)... a full re-wire with a Ron Francis kit is a winter project! I figured I could just run both lights from the wiring on the right side rather than having to take apart the harness and fish around for a little 22 gauge wire.
