Ford Falcons and Mustangs have 8" Ford rears, there 56" backing plate to backing plate, there a little lighter duty but as long as you don't have to much HP, they will hold up, Mavericks are the same 8". I'v heard you can cut the tubes with a pipe cutter, never done it myself. That is a nice car you have.You don't know what you've got til it's gone
