It had Dana markings ( a little plug that said DANA ). and aluminum dosen't rust so it was probably the Dana 35.Originally posted by oldjeep

But you said it has disc brakes, which would mean you are talking about a Grand Cherokee.
In that case, it's either an Aluminum diff D44 - they break a lot in jeeps. Or a Dana 35You don't know what you've got til it's gone
