    carb question

     



    ok, i just got a holley 850cfm 4 barrel i planned on selling it to someone who can use it but someone told me to re-jet it down to like a 650. is this even possible?

    850 cfm is the airflow capability of the carb (cubic feet per minute)
    Re-jetting it has to do with the fuel delivery.
    The cfm is a function of the barrel size.
    The only way to reduce cfm would be to put a restrictor plate
    on it, which would only reduce max flow at WOT. At idle you'd still be pulling through a huge carb so there would be a crappy signal at low rpm's.
    It would suck.
