    I remember seeing that somewhere that the 8cyl cars in '55 were 12 volt and the 6 cyl cars were 6 volt, in 1955 at least, I looked this up about a year ago and I may be wrong, I will look it up quick, well, they are all -12 volt, guess I was wrong. edit, the 1955 235 I6 Corvette motor ( rated at 150 hp ) was the last 6 volt used in 1955 in only that vette motor which was the base motor. '55 was also the last year the Corvette had a 6cyl and the only year that the corvette had a 6 cyl and an 8cyl in production at the same time.
