    4.3 to 350 swap

ive decided to drop my 355 in my 92 1500 W/T with the 4.3. I was told i needed a new computer and someone to shut off the fuel governor because the truck thinks its a V6 still and shuts the V 8 off at 4250 (this was in a S10 though) so i need to know if my truck even has this governor and if i switch to a carb do i still need this stuff?

and any recomendations for a posi rear end and some sticky tires for the back would be greatly appreciated. for the rear end im thinkin a 10 bolt posi.

Keep the injection, but get a Tuned Port Injection system. Get the computer to run the system. These can be reprogrammed. Many of the newer vehicles have two or three (sometimes more) different computers. Odds are, if it's an automatic, that the trans has some form of electronic control. It will give you a chance to learn what TPS, O2, CTS, MAF, etc., mean and do.

By the way, you could also take the unique way and build up the 4.3L V-6. Hot Rod stuffed a Vortech supercharger on theirs and got 475 HP.

    thanks,
id like to keep the TBI but i was told the motor will shut off at 4250. ive had a few people tell me carb it. im not good with fuel injection. I saw the 4.3 article and it was rad but im already building this 355 and i like N/A motors.
and you kinda confused me with the trans thing isnt TPS and MAF the throttle positioning sensor and the mass air flow sensor? whats that got to do with the trans?
