Keep the injection, but get a Tuned Port Injection system. Get the computer to run the system. These can be reprogrammed. Many of the newer vehicles have two or three (sometimes more) different computers. Odds are, if it's an automatic, that the trans has some form of electronic control. It will give you a chance to learn what TPS, O2, CTS, MAF, etc., mean and do.
By the way, you could also take the unique way and build up the 4.3L V-6. Hot Rod stuffed a Vortech supercharger on theirs and got 475 HP.---Tom
