Hello, Can anyone enlighten me about how these ashtray style scoop inserts were attached to the hood. I have a set that I am trying to put on a stock, flat El Camino hood. When they lay flat there is still about a 1/4" gap around the perimeter which lets you see under. I have been told that these inserts sat in an indentation in the Camaro hood. I have also been told that there is a gasket thet goes in this gap. I don't remember how it looked 34 years ago. If anyone can help me get the correct part to fill this gap, I would appreciate it, or anyother idea to make this work. Thanks
