well I am not sure if I understand you or not! Set the car where you want ride hieght to be lets say front crossmember 4in off the ground! you will then take the installed height of the bag lets say 5in and build around that! So when you air your car up and it is at the desired ride hieght then that is where you drive it! I am not sure if you will need Drop spindles or not if it will align w/o them then great if not you probably need some!

Ok Travis, even though you didn't really understand me then you basically just answered my question. Thanks a lot! I think I will need dropped spindles because stock 79 camaro anyways and 48 car sits pretty high. I guess I will have to sell these stocks ones and something else of mine to get money for the dropped spindles.

Also Mopar, I just emailed Ricky and told him to give me a week before calling him so I can get my vehicle weight estimated, motor I will put in, plans for the car, desired height, etc. I am going to go to www.my48chevy.com and the guy that made that site just bagged his 48 which is not done yet but all together now and see what his is. Even though I have a 79 front end then that front end will still be the same as that guys original IFS 48 front end right, I mean I can still use his measurements even though his front end is different?
Anyways, Ricky said that will be cool and he is glad I am going to do that because he gets calls all the time and the people have no clue at all. So far he seems like a cool guy and everything is positive. We will see though. How are their prices compaired to Air Ride Technologies?

well we will just have to wait and see then, but from what everyone tells me their prices are a bit better,, which is cool cause i like their stuff a lot, and most of their stuff is heavy duty, which might be over kill but I feel better when it's done that way. but you do have to remember that they are not a coorporation,, just a small shop that makes some really nice stuff, that's what keeps their prices down. Their suicide door hinges and all that stuff are really nice too.

As far as weight goes, that should pretty much be the same. as far as lift goes i'd say the same also, but i'm not familiar with a 48 front. i've got a 40 in the shop right now but not a 48.
but like the one guy put pics up of his rear suspension, the farther down the bar you mount the bag the more lift you will get.
keep in mind also that if you don't mount the bag over the axle ride will be much better... you loose tow capacity as you move away from the above axle mount though, but you prob are not concerned with that..

I also found out that the guy with the 48 put a Mustang II clip on it and bags so scratch what I said about using the original front clip. Only difference from my clip to his is that mine is like 3 inches wider. My clip is actually 2 1/2 inches too wide I think but I will have to work the lip on the front fender and run skinnier tires up front I guess with a correct offset.
On mounting, if I mount lower you say I will get more height. So in doing that I will lose lowering though right?

Mopar is talking about mounting the bag on a or the link bar it's self like the pic that was posted here! what he was trying to say is when you move the bag further towards the front of the car the more lift you will get out of the bag like a lever depending on where you put the point it pivots on! (hope that ade since)! Personally I like to see the bag on the rear end somewhere either above the axle or behind the axle!

Truck arm set-ups are a little different.....The bag can go right where the coil once was!

So I have a question about 2 way and 4 way systems. I havnt installed my air ride system yet, but I have a 2 way set of Big Red valves, a 7 gallon tank, and a compressor. The car is a 47 ford 2 door coupe, with a Mustang II front end and a ford 9" rear. I was told that for the smaller cars, a 2 way system, with a sway bar would be fine for my car, and sway wouldnt be too bad since its not as tall or heavy as a truck. Also, my switches controll the front and the back independantly. If I had a 4 way system, would I have to rause the car one corner at a time?

Yeah in theary if you have a 4 way system which would be a F.B.S.S (front back side side) you would have to do them independantly, but i believe air ride has their digital controller which has a all up button and a all down button, and a button that puts, and keeps it at ride height, i've installed a few of the same with the air-lift kit and never had a prob with it. you can buy the digital controller units serperately, i believe some other company makes one that looked nice but not sure who.
as far as your car goes with a 2-way system, i'm not 100% possitive as all the one's i've installed are 4-way. sorry.

Mopar I think the company your thinking of is Dakota Digital. They have nice units I hear.
