Really don't know if you are referring to a mechanical or electrical pump? I'm running a Carter electric on my 64 C10 with 350 for about 6 years now, no problems. Not exactly a daily driver though. On my 77 firebird, I dropped a fuel guage into a mini guage cluster and stuck it in the hood. sweet. On the truck, i've got a fuel guage in line, under the hood.
