Are you worried about the integrity of the system without the additional tie-downs or are you trying to duplicate the original?

A parts manual for the car should show an exploded view of the complete setup.....and all the misc brackets and clamps. The book was a separate Chevy II-specific book and was paper. I threw mine away years ago.....someone should still have older GM parts books. There was a parts book along with a separate illustration book OR sometimes the two were combined.

Regarding the support, you can tie the hoses together with tie wraps or secure them to a hard location....I have some 36" long hoses that are secured only at the center to a frame member and there is no problem....when the thing is running, you cant bend the hoses.
