    '23 T bucket Help

I'v finally decided not to do anything with the Falcon. I'v decided to just put the Falcon up for sale as is. I'v decided that I want to do a fairly long term project, a '23 T Bucket, I was considering doing 1 up b4 I bought the chevy. I will do the chevy but, progress has slowed down on that, I did get the visor on and block sanded off most of the wavy bondo, but it's turned into a free time, when I feel like it kind of thing. Over the work winter, I will divide my savings in half, half for the Chevy, Half for the Bucket, and I will get a summer job and do the same. And devote half my free weekends to the Chevy and the other half to the bucket but it will probably be, Saturday is Chevy Day, sunday is t bucket day, and maby if I have 3 days off, I could split the 3rd day into finishing up what didn't get done that was planned for both cars that weekend. My plan is to use Ither Total performance or Speedway for the body, I would like a turtle deck so I probably go with Speedway. I will go with speedway for the frame, as all Total's parts are only offered stainless or chrome, and my budget is plain steel, it's 369 for the rear end and 389 I think for the front end both in plain steel from Speedway. I'm estimating on the high side, 8k but I know it would be more. I'm not looking for a show car, just a safe driver that will gain some looks. I'm thinking I should start with the body because of the fact I have no garage and I checked and measured the remaining room left in my 8'X8' shed and checked the measurments of the '23 T bucket body using speedway's listed dimensions, it would fit if I tipped the body on it's side to get it through the 40" door opening, but it would sit right down on the floor with some room to spare. I'd be tight but there is enough room to work on it in there for some things. I was thinking during the winter, I could do simple things to it like put the floor in it. The frame would be too big to put in the shed and I don't want to just put it under a tarp, afraid of warping as the ground around here heaves and settles badly. As for working on the frame, on leval ground, that is possible. I will lay down a 4X8 sheet of plywood, 7/8" probably, then get 6 12" blocks, spray the tops with rubberized undercoating, and shim up the blocks until there leval. For a motor, I plan on a 305, no internal changes, some chrome/ sprint style headders and a diffrent intake to make it look good/ TH350 auto with a lokar nostalgia shifter. I don't need a rocket car, just somthing that will sound good and run good, maby be able to light the tires. I have a few questions on what steering colum to use. I would think an Ididit tilt colum would be good because, it could be tilted all the way down for a better angle on the steering wheel What do you guys think?. Also, I see in Speedway they advertise traditional steering which uses a reversed corvaire box, and cross steering whick uses a Vega box but Speedway says the cross steering is the only way on a T, Is this true? and last 1, is '37-'48 Ford spindles better than '49-'54 Spindals or is it a matter of prefrance? Thanks

OK guys, I was looking through T Performance's site, only to find there just a tad more expensive in some cases and just a tad more expensive in others. I'm going to do it from there parts, might get a spun Aluminum tank from speedway or maby a brake kit from speedway but that's it. I'm going to get Total's chassie that has all the brackets for there suspension/ steering and rear end stuff all welded on, that's 550 for it, for the body, I'm going to get there regular body with 14" bed and get the 1 with the floor kit, it's 650 for that, which is cheaper than speedway, because speedway's with a 14" bed and no floor is 630 somthing, and they don't offer a floor kit. I also want a little diffrent. I was just playing with the builder for the 3,999 basic bolt up kit, and I saw the option for chopped '32 Grille and shell, I clicked it, put it on and it looks awsome, might cost 4-500 more in the end but, the look would be worth it.
