I don't have much help, but I have had the same idea and would be interested in how you make out with it. I have seen it done but think there is extensive fab work to be done on the suspension components. I was looking into this on my last 34 Ford coupe but ended up putting the solid rear axle in it. I want to build one more hopefully using corvette components so keep us posted on how you make out with this.
