I checked into this for my '51 Fleetline 4dr and it does fit but, you need a new parking brake assembly, the nice old brake handle/ assembly is in the way, the steering box has to be pushed over to fit, also you would need a new rear end with an open drive shaft, the old torque tube type won't work with anything but the stock stuff. for my situation, I chose to use the stock running gear, 235 w/ Powerglide because of finances, only planning around 3,500 bucks invested for the compleated project, that and my car is 1 of about 4 cars I know of that are 4dr fleetlines with the 235/PG running gear. I'm gonna put some period peices into the engine, like a log ram I'm looking at on Ebay, a set of fenton headders, 2 glasspacks, along with a grape purple paint job, and grape purple and white vinyl interior, done in a 1950's V8 style.
You don't know what you've got til it's gone
