I think I would go with an aftermarket EFI inline pump. Like VW said, the Focus pump might not be able to supply enough volume to keep up with the V-8 fuel requirements. JMO, but you might want to do some checking. I doubt the factory built the pump with one bit more capacity than the original 4 banger in the Focus required.
