    Red face sbc bbc motor mounts ??

     



    are small block and big block motor mounts the same ? i have a 71 chevell going from big block to small block,, put a 7qt drag race oil pan on the small block ,,, pan is up against the frame but motor is in...trans is not on engine,,, angle of the motor looks to level.... anybody have any ideas?

    I believe the perches mounted on the crossmember are bolted to a different set of holes. I don't have my '72 here or I would check.
    I intend to live forever; so far, so good.

    thanks ,, i will look at a small block in another chevelle to see which holes to use....

    Did your old big block have the short motor mounts bolted to the engine??? If it did go to the longer mounts and it should give you another inch or so of clearance.
