Rear end for 56 chevy 210
Hey Friends.
I have 4-11 gears on the rear end of my 56 and I am looking to replace it with a highway friendly rear end. my rear end measures 59.5 from where the wheels bolt on. what GM rear ends are easy bolt ons? I have a 327 appx 300 hp with a TH350 tranny . What ggear ratio is the best for highway driving. Thanx DH

DH, everything is a trade-off. Numerically high gears like your 4.11 will give the best acceleration, but suck at mileage. Lower numerical gears in the high 2's, low 3's (2.73, 3.00 for instance) will give the best mileage, but they suck at acceleration. Most guys will try to achieve a happy medium, around 3.50 to 3.70 if they have a dual purpose car or truck with no overdrive.
Here is a chart that may help, showing some diff widths....

on small cars yes. but fat fender cars are pretty much the same in size and weight as the donor car. i found s10 brakes work great on fat fender and pickups. a deuce will just need manual brakes...
