55Chev powersteering
Hi just a new member and looking for some advice please i am importing a 55 chev into New Zealand and i was wanting to add power steering to it so the wife can drive it. what type of steering fits the best and with the least hassel, i have herd people fit 605 power steer but what is it from, ie: need make, model and year of car please
Any advice would be great please

55 - 57 can use a 605 gear box , you have to mate the upper 605 with a lower shaft from the 55 ,grind a couple of teeth off the shaft gear . you can buy a almost bolt on gear from classis chevy club 1 800 456 1957 ,you have to weld a bracket on the frame to hold the gear .
i prefer to use a rack , i think they drive alot better than a 605yes i drove ,the trailer didnot drive it's self

Most of the 605 boxes made now will use new parts and a lot og them bolt directly to the frame without welding a plate to it. You can use the existing stock column with modifications, use a mid 70's van tilt or get a tilt column from places from places like Ididit or Flaming RiverKen
on small cars yes. but fat fender cars are pretty much the same in size and weight as the donor car. i found s10 brakes work great on fat fender and pickups. a deuce will just need manual brakes...
