55 olds motor swap
quick question have a buddy who bought a 55 olds previous owner tried to swap a 61 olds 394 engine in it we are having some problems with the exhaust hitting the front frame horns do the make headers for this engine or any ideas for us anything will help..thanks

even the Olds guru, Joe Mondello, doesn't make any parts for the 394. It's without a mother or a father and not worth fooling with.
You can make your own headers, though.....

I put a 59 394 in a 53 olds with minimal problems but I heard the 61 to 64 motors were worse to adapt,I can solve the problems with a rebuilt 56 olds 324 that I was building for the 53. All the hard work is done and only needs a couple parts to complete,I also have a hyrdromatic trans and a stick setup. I wll trade all my olds stuff for a rolling 65 galaxie 2 door body. Jeff
