-put pumps back in thanks
-chassis pump hi pressure pump
- tank pump low pressure pump
- you have to have both to make the truck run
- start truck and let it run until it cuts off
- are both pumps running?
- is either pump running?
-which one
- if they are not running then check for voltage at which pump that is not running with a test light.
-if pump is not running and don't light the light, then you have a relay kicking out or something wrong with the wiring, go check what sparkey told you to check. (let me know at this point)
- if the pump or pumps are not running and you have 12 volts then the pump is bad.
- if the pumps are running and you don't have pressure then its sucking air some where.
- if the pump in the tank is running but no pressure there is a filter looking thing in the tank just above the pump that will go bad and the tank pump would be running but the gas would be coming out of the filter looking thing and going back into the tank instead of up to the other pump like it should and that could keep the truck from running.
- go down this list, check all of this stuff and you should find your problem or let me know that you find. take a peace of paper and write down what you find and answer each one by # and we can fix this truck.
the way you was running the pump in gas yesterday will fool you some times because a pump that will pump without a load might not pump under load. the pump on the chassis wont pick up gas in the tank, the tank pump has to push it up to that pump, and if the chassis pump is bad then the tank pump wont pump enough furl to run the truck, so that's why you need both.
