    Wires everywhere !!!

     



    Ive got a butchered wiring harness in a 90 chevy full size truck. I'v found everything except the lower oil sending unit wire(neer the filter) Does any one know what color wire im lookin for? Chilton manual says tan / no tan wire available . Call me a wuss if you must but im tired of lookin plz help!!!

    looks like its orange in my diagram, or is there two pressure swithes, one for the fuel pump and the other for the guage?

    yep

     



    There is two .One for the fuel pump neer the distributor and the one I need is neer the filter .A single wire deal/scary part is my chevy looks like a ford sending unit I know its right it just looks scary...

    1 sending unite. the fuel pump and the gauge is the same one.

    dont know what that is at the dist but the fuel pump- oil perss. switch should be the same. ground the wire and see if you gauge in the truck goes all the way over. if it does thats the right wire and your gauge in the truck is ok to.

    Thats the prob No extra wires opened loom to see if it was tucked cant find anything.

    have you got a diagram chevy5, the more i think about it there might be 2 senders. the only one i ever replaced was the fuel pump unite. i dont have a diagram i can look at right now. i can get you a diagram tomorrow Big Daddy T if you need it.

    I would greatly appreciate it 10 the one in chilton book is screwy. I have installed car sterios for about 15 years .Wires dont scar me but computer wiring is a mess...

    Its possible that it is missing. The truck has not been converted to carb just the guy who put the motor in was a idiot...

    if its missing and we can find out the color of the wire, he can either put a manul. gauge on it or pull the speedometer out of the truck and run a wire from the wiring harness( oil pressure gauge in the dash) out to the sending unite on the motor. the ground will take care of it self.

    i'm looking at your diagram now and there almost has to be two of them. the only one i can find i this diagram is coming off the D terminal on the fuel pump relay connects the circut at the switch and then goes to the B terminal on the relay.

    that diagram i sent you dont show the oil sending unite on the block does it?
