    exhaust

Hey everyone!! lookin for some info on exhaust. Mine is
shot and need to get new. I am looking for 1 7/8 headers
or 2" for an 81 two wheel drive truck would the 2" have to be
custom or does someone make these. The biggest super comps that i found was 1 3/4. Now 1 of my flow masters have a loose
baffle that i can hear rattling. have been looking a the super 40s
or the dynomax ovals. Anyone here have the super 40s? And do they sound as awsome or better than the regular 40s?

Techs right. Due to the general clearance issues and nessicary backpressure, there are few applications that would require more than 1,3/4 inch headers.

These guys are shooting you straight. About the only time the bigger tube might help is in all out race application. otherwise the smaller tube will give you more grunt where you need it.

Ok, here is my question then. I have a van, with a rebuilt 350. I am getting some, I need replacement noises.
My engine has a .196-.204 cam, one bump over stock, port matched head, manifold, stock manifold. It has 64cc heads with stock lifters. The intake manifold is an Edelbrock Performer. I have an Edelbrock EGR carb on it now, and I am changing it to a Q-Jet.
    I run dual 2 1/4 pipes straight back with a 2 1/4 crossover.
Am I too big for around town and highway?
    We rarely see over 2500rpm.
I do like the duals although the original owner fried the speedometer cable by putting the pipe too close to it on the driver side.
I am considering putting the system back, however, am I running too large a diameter exhaust?
