    Engine Makeover Project Complete

Well Folks I put the finishing touches on my Winter project engine compartment make over today. Final touch was the "Studebaker" valve covers. I am thinking about what to do with my air cleaner, if anything. Let me know what you think.

See Before and After below, or view the project pictures here:

Thanks for the comments guys, I thought about doing the breather yellow as well, but that may be too much yellow. Was also thinking about one of these. Thoughts?

Never really liked that style that much, then again its not my car

What about something like this oval shaped billet style? Kinda hard to see all of it but its the only pic I have handy right now.[IMG][/IMG]

Those don't LOOK to bad but the foam will burn quickly on the first backfire, and yes it has happened to me

Ya I had one that did that too .... also when they get a old they break apart and where do all those tiny pieces go?? uh-huh .... If you do use one I recomend you keep an eye on it and replace the foam filter at the first sign of wear ....

Looks great Pat, now the Stude looks as good under the hood as it does on the outside. How about an oval shaped air cleaner with a ball milled top, polish the flat and paint the grooves yellow? Just a thought.

I always thought something like this (chromed) would be neat on a rod. If you go to E Bay and typ.....air cleaner hot rod..... there might be something that strikes your fancy (it's where I found this one).

that looks great stu. as far as that breather goes i ran 2 of then on a blown 454 for yrs. because thats the only one the st. police would let me run(the others was to high)and i didnt have any problem with them. if the blow didnt suck that form out of there then nutten will. i think that breather would go good with the style of the car.
