wiring harness

Hello,
I am rebuilding my Porsche Speedster Replica and I am looking for a universal wiring harness kit. I was interested in purchasing a harness from HotRod Wire Company. I found their company on the web and the kit seems complete. Has anyone used one of their wiring kits in their projects? If so, would you recommend it?

You may be better off contacting the MFGR of your kit ( or even another MFGR of the same type kit) and see whom they recommend. When you start buying these "UNIVERSAL" kits, you end up spending more time configering it to work for your application. I've always made my own wiring harness' for any project cars I've had.

It may be a really good harness from HOTROD, but I have not ever used their kits or components. Good Luck.

I use 8-fuse or 12-fuse marine fuse panels from NAPA, cost is usually less than 30 bucks. I wire my own because most universal kits have extra wires for power accesories that my cars never have... power windows, A/C, etc...

For circuits that require relays, like fuel pump or road lights, I use the Bosch foglight installation wiring kits available at stores that sell foglights. The kit has a fused Bosch 30A relay, connector, and wiring and costs 15 bucks. I usually throw the toggle switch away in favor of something cooler.

Be sure to make a quick sketch of your wiring layout and colors for easier fault-tracing later.
