I would like a fiberglass hood for my 67 cougar, but can,t find anyone who makes one. Also will need a 4" cowl on it.

Sounds like they'll make it to your specs and would probably mold in a hood scoop (cowl?) for you.

Fiberglass work isn't difficult.
Especially doing add-on stuff.

what is the reason why some of the hood cowls are facing to the driver and some face away? Other than some are truly induction cowls and some are just for carb clearest.
If the opening is facing forward and in a non-turbulent area air is rammed into the scoop with a slight positive pressure.
Aerodynamic supercharging as it were.

With the opening facing to the rear and close to the windshield, the scoop intake is in a relatively turbulence free area that is also an area of high pressure.
