COST!! i used to race round track and built a ford because everybody else had chevs., this was back in the 60 & 70 when nobody run fords, but i was gonna be the man. i built a ford, won the points champ. that year and went broke doing it. at the time you could buy a racing piston for a chev. for about 25.00 and a ford piston would have cost you 75.00. everything on the motor was about the same way. ford has alot more Hi perf. stuff now, but the cost is still to much dif. with a st. rod deal id build what ever i wanted, hopefully you wont be blowing it up that much.
