Valve Cover Gasket
Does anyone know if the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced every time it comes off?
Also, the cover have to be torqued back on?

If the gasket is not torn and still plyable by all means reuse it, and while most people don't retorque valve covers they should be, thats why the manufactor lists torque values for them.Objects in the mirror are losing

The cover was slow leaking oil and when I took it off, the gasket was ruptured. I thought that might happen everytime you take it off, but from your response, I guess it was broken before. I dont have a torque wrench yet, so I hope it doesnt harm the cover if I hand tighten it.
Does it damage or warp the part if it isnt torqued?

I had to go to the doctor's this morning. He told me that my sugar was too high so I came home and put it on a lower shelf. I feel better already.
