this is the autometer tech tips for fuel gauges. Once you figure out what range your sender is operating at, you can choose the correct fuel gauge. Also, there are the inductive senders that
have no moving parts and have the ability to be trimmed (adjusted). The source for these is Centroid Products in FL.....

We have used a couple of these and they are easy to install in a custom tank or fuel cell since they use a flat mounting flange and gasket.
