    a 12 volt system has around 6-7 volts at the points but that 6 volt system couldnt have had over 6 volts but thats all you need. if you have put 12 volts to it for any time you may have burnt them...

    id like to help you get it started, but you need to know a few things. you need to know how much voltage you have at the points 12v will burn them up. can you get a volt meter and check that?:cool:

    you need to know what the voltage is at the points. you don't wont 12 at the points. the coil may have a resister built in or you need to add one if it don't. 12 volts will cook the points you wont...
