    Are they cast heads or did someone put aluminum...

    Are they cast heads or did someone put aluminum heads on it?
    If it is cast and you still don't a 2 or a 4 beside the valve covers.
    I would say it's not a 385 engine, Cleveland or modified.

    Look in the corner of the heads like Itooldyouso...

    Look in the corner of the heads like Itooldyouso said, right beside the edge of the valve cover in the corner you should be able to see a 2 or a 4 on the head.
    You don't have to take anything apart...
