Great post, Joe!! That's exactly what I remembered, but I mistakenly recalled that the clips were under lug nuts.

The center nut's not bad in any way, but it seems like I've seen some spring steel "clips" that were held in place by three of the lug nuts, shaped to retain the baby moon?
