I just finished restoration on a 71 Chevy pick...
I just finished restoration on a 71 Chevy pick up. Beleave me the studs and nuts are the only thing holding the wheel to the truck/car. Its kind of like kitchen cabinets. Usualy there are only 4 #8...

I have to plead ignorance here. I have always thought that the lug nuts hold the wheel against the (drum/flangs) and the nuts center the wheel and the friction of the force of the tight nuts...
