    yep seen the car here in town .on the door handles open up the door look in the door frame under the door gasket there may be a tin tab this is about were the handle would be on the out side get a big flat blade screw driver side under tab full it to you and the handle should come off

    if thats how its held on alot of older GM s are

    I assume it is the same as my 37 LaSalle. It should just have a square end that slides into the door hardware. I have several extra handles because somewhere along the way the ends got broken at the hole where the set screw goes in . This may be a stupid question, but did you get the set screw all the way out of the door? I only asked beause I have wrestled with those as well. Unfortunately, my best advice would be: penetrating oil, time, a little jiggling, followed by brute force.
