I forgot to say after the safety rant about the nice job you are doing on th truck. Not to mention a What great grandpa.

Having a car show at my church in thomasville nc. Would love to have you there April 30th. Its at Hillside Park Baptist Church Its at 7593 East Holly Grove road. Its from 9 till 2.

Sorry bobsratrods but I am afraid I wont be ablle to make the car show on the 30th. Grandkids ballgames all day long n saturday but thanks for the invitation.

I can't beleive how much your frame looks like mine!! I just posted a question on shop talk about steerin box. Where and how are you going to mount your steering gear box and what kind? I'm using a saginua box (power steer).

I didnt find your question on Shop Talk but as for the steering I am using a rack and pinion from a 80 something, cant remember the year model, Dodge Omni on mine. The slip shaft is from a 88 Ford ranger steering column. Works well together.

Got started on my two link suspension build today. Will pick up the panhard bar tomorrow from my son in law. 10 feet of 2x3x3/16 tubing. Some 2" exhaust pipe for bushing sleeves and a couple of 1979 Monte Carlo radius arms bushings.
Going to run coilover shocks also.

Got a little more done on the two link in the pass week. Just some update photos.
The bushings are from a 79 Monte Carlo.

Decided against using the original steering box from a 50 Chevy truck due to a space issue so I am going with a rack and pinion from a 1988 Dodge Omni I picked up at the local you-pull-it yard for 25 bucks.

Havent decided if I will mount it directly to the axle or build mounts off the frame to do away with using a slip joint on the steering column.
Any suggesting would be appreciated on this.

I love this build! I've had this dream for years of building my own car from scratch, and this build is very inspireing!

Thanks Silverhawk for your kind words. Now jump a plane and come on to the east coast and I will put you to work....
It has truly been a learning experience for me being I have never build a car from the ground up before.
