    Ratty!

What a fun looking truck. I love it! Very unusual combo, which makes it great!

Guess I'm doing this backwards but I already finished the truck.
Here's what I started with a cab, an engine and a Minneapolis Moline tractor grille.

The frame is from Spirit Industries. It's a 27 T roadster frame. Was cheaper than I could buy the metal at the time.

The rear is out of a 69 Camaro. 10 bolt, 3.73 Posi, new bearings, seals and axles. I removed the spring pads and welded on the hairpin/shock brackets.

    Next to the front.
Super Bell 4" drop I-beam with 40s style Ford Spindles. I started with the Model A bones but later changed to hairpins.

The front brakes are 69-72 Chevy Mid-size 11" disc brake rotors and calipers.

Once the rolling chassis was mocked up I set the body on the frame. The body was channeled 4" and a floor frame of 1" tubing was installed.

Nice to revisit your truck . Everything about it has the "look" ,truly one of the nicest builds around . Wish you lived closer so I could eye ball it in person . LFE

After I got the engine in I realized it was way to low. So I went to the hairpins and I have 4" of clearance under the pan. I used a cross member and mounts from Chassis Engineering.

I took these today in Moriority, NM while my truck was being photographed for New Mexico Rods and Rides Magazine. Frontier Saloon on Route 66.
