It's nice to see people rowing their own canoe!!! So you make some mistakes, we can ALLLLL profit from them. And you're plowing new ground. Imagine what they said about Columbus! Perley oldrodder43

iv never driven any thing not safe for the road. and iv built alot of cars in my life. wow someone tries to do something different and thay get flamed for it. just because someone tries something dosent mean it will work just means there trying.
my goal with this build is to have a truck that i can drive anywere and if it brakes down i can get parts for it. anyone try to get brake parts for a 41 chevy ya it can be ordered but your waiting at least 1or 2 days now try to get parts for a 88 jeep walk in and walk out with your parts.
so i will make this jeep axel work whether it be a drop or strait axel, ladderbar, eliptic or underslung.
one more thing how safe is drum brakes on the front of a hot rod? ill tell you its not. all kinds of power and no way to stop. so who has a better chance of killing someone?

I love those engine mounts!! I'm looking around trying to decide what to use on mine, do you think those would be strong enough for a 400-450HP engine?? Also do you plan to somehow use bushings to absorb the vibration?? I'm sorry, I might have to copy you on this one, but I'll tell everyone it was your idea!!
Sean.
Dammit, another good ol boy gone. Condolence to the family. RIP Mike
