Thanks for the response. I am pretty much just talking about flat paint (any color), lowered, painted steel wheels (maybe hub caps), WWW tires...etc. Stuff like that. Maybe a chopped roof. I really haven't noticed any chopped roofs on any 55-57 cars whether it be a chevy, buick, dodge, ford...maybe I am just not looking in the right spots. In any matter any pics would be very much appriciated!! Thank.

If you want to get ideas:
I went to Google, typed in "chopped top 55" (then 56, then 57). I clicked IMAGES at the top of the screen, and got these.
You could try "50s custom" or "lead sled", or what ever else you can think of.
I have seen many of the 55-56-57 cars chopped, over the last 50 years, but not much in recent times. You will have to go back in history to find them. You will find a few 4 doors done, too.
Be sure to pay attention to the amount of the chop, or you can cut up some pictures, and figure out how much difference 2 inches, 4 inches, 6 inches, or whatever amount you decide on, will make.Last edited by HOTRODPAINT; 12-10-2006 at 07:52 AM.

Another possible source, for pictures of chopped '50s models, would be the Kustom Kemps Of America, or KKOA. It's a national club for custom cars.

Yeah the pics of those cars weren't exactly what I was looking for but I have to admit that the buick is beautiful, rat rod or not.

If you want a picture of a 1956 Buick, 4-door, flat black, and built in the recent Rat Rod style, you will probably just have to build it, and take the first picture of that exact combination, yourself! :-)

Yeah that is true. Not saying that I don't appriciate that effort at all.
I can't believe that you actually found one of a chopped four door either.
Especially a buick! What is your alls guess on how much that is chopped? Not much I don't think. One inch? Two Inches?
You are right. I think that I will just have to build a flat painted Buick to see what it looks like. LOL I can't wait!!
