also i need ideas on covering my disributor to keep from getting wet, im thinking about adding metal off the lower sides of the coffin
Love the grille.:3dSMILE: :3dSMILE: :3dSMILE:
Surprisingly, water on the distributor doesn't seem to cause any running problems. I drove my '27 through blinding rainstorms time after time (you know how it rains here in Florida) and it never missed a beat. I had a mallory dual point and also a stock distributor, and both were the same. I swore that the engine would quit running any second, but it never did.
Actually, the last time I drove it I came home in 5 hours of blinding rain from Daytona, and it purred right along. And I had no hood, of course.
Don
Love the grille.
thanks, i dont yet know how im going to attach them yet though, i thought about a peice of allthread through them bolted to the top and bottom, but then they will spin around
If your cap and wires are in good shape, rain wont hurt. You should worry more about water getting down the carb....which really won't hurt anything either....just makes it run funny.

why not mount an electric motor on a pully, and hook them all in, that way they rotate in sequence. add some green LED's behind cleare lenses in the eyes and use some kind of rotational contact for power and you will be all setQuote:

Need a nitros kit ,just so you can purge it out of the skulls!!!!
That looks sweet. I especially like the grill and the aircleaner is not bad either
An interesting idea involving skulls would be a skull air breather cover with a working mouth that would open during acceleration, using vaccum pressure.
love the skull grill, on my 36 dodge i have a skull on my grill

HOTRODDADDY is right, the profile on your truck is great.

Hotroddaddy,
Your ride is very nice & u're grill is great. Thanks for the post... I just bought a '50 Lincoln today & look forward to gettin it back on the road. Don't think I'll be able to top that great skull grrrill though!

I was thinking a skull with LED eyes would make a trick 3rd brake light.:toocool:
I got a small one going on the back , i am planning on putting a tag light under it , ill post pics as soon as i get it done.
I LOVE the car. the no hood idea, ive never seen it done with the "spider web" cage. the skulls are awesome, and that is a hell of a good lookin car.
i really wish i could get my hands on one of those.
Thanks 71, its nice to hear some positive comments, ive been taking a beating over on the hamb, i was starting to get a little depressed, when i get home i will add some updated shots.
Don't let them get you down John, evidently that forum is interested in only the kinds of cars they feel are "traditional", and anything else should not exist in their opinion. I have seen so many cases where someone asks the most simple question, and instead of just giving a decent answer they choose to start banging on the guy.
Funny part is, they play both sides of the street on that issue too. When one of their buddies on there posts something that other people would be flamed for, all of a sudden it is ok. Just like when they were flaming Jesse James, and then he showed up and posted........then all of them started acting like star struck kids. Plus, it is real easy to be brave sitting at a computer keyboard where you know you will never have to face the guy you are putting down.
This battle between car hobbyists has been going on lots longer than you or I have been around. In the really old days the 4 cylinder guys hated the new V8 cars, then the flathead guys hated the OHV engines coming out.........they weren't "traditional." Who the h*** REALLY knows what traditional is?? I sure don't.
Bottom line is your car is your car, and if it makes you happy it doesn't make a rat's behind, and other people have no say in it whatsoever. Besides, most of those "bangers" don't even have a car in all probability, at least not one that is running like yours. :D :D
Don
Lighted chrome skulls ?

Just seen these same skulls at Wal-Mart for $19.99Quote:

There is tons of good info, but not the family bond i see here. oh ya heres the recent pics.there kinda bad but you can see it anyway.
This cars badass, i love it.
About a week or so ago my Kid posted some pictures of my T on there, unbeknownst to me at the time. When I ran across the thread I figured the flaming was about to begin, but surprisingly the posts were very kind. Only negative was someone said I needed to change out the blue oil pan gasket (I'm really not THAT fussy :D ..........it seals and that is all I care about) Perhaps part of it is that Dan is generally treated pretty well on there, and maybe they didn't want to say anything negative to him.
I think everybody agrees that there is a wealth of good info there, particularly if you are into traditional hot rods and old stuff. I do like what I learn about those things, and some interesting people post some times (Jesse James, Corky Coker, etc)
Don
i now what your going through , but not on the hambQuote:
