    brake donor for hot rod

Up here in Northwestern Ontario, Canada (yes, it was snowing today!) I have very little access to old parts donor vehicles, so it's hard to make an ol' skool rod!
I am trying to make a Traditional Model A V-8 street rod, using all parts from other vehicles, just like they did in the '50's and 60's. (Ordering new stuff from catalogs is too easy, I want this challenge)

    I have access to a '48 F-1 chassis...

On a traditional Model A-V8 hot rod, would it be good to use the F-1 front brakes?

Can I swap the original spidles with '48 F-1 spindles and brakes.... If not, how do I do it?

Would the back axle, brakes, torque tube and wishbone be a good candidate for my A-V8?

    Thanks

The pickup brakes are far better, they're self-energising type. Use the car spindles with the truck backing plates. Some years, I forget exactly which, need some grinding on the spindle flange to make 'em fit, no big deal.
Isn't the F-1 an open rear drive? Either way, the rear will have the better brakes, too.

    Thanks for the info.....

I haven't seen the frame yet, but the guy said it's a '48 F-1 with closed rear drive....

To those who've sent me a PM....STOP TEASING ME ABOUT THE WEATHER (lol)....I was supposed to take my '64 Olds Dynamic 88 convertible to work this morning, but we had about 3 inches of snow this morning!
