    Well, it certainly is a unique engine!! I would have to agree that without extensive redesigning on the heads and valve train, performance wise it would be a real pooch!!! You can put me on the "why bother" list....

    you got to be kidding me ,right? well if you dont know goerge & sam barris are 2 of the best customizers ever to have lived, they were the first to chop a merc along with tons of custom treatments,ed (big daddy) roth is the inventor of rat fink,world famous artist/pinstriper,custom car guy, he built such cars as the beatnik bandit

    I would imagine they did have a why bother list, an that engine with the bass ackwards flow would have been at the top of it!!!! I doubt much of an itake charge would flow up an exhaust port, around the big bend, and through a 1.60" valve !!!!!

    I'm quite sure Barris, Roth, and all the other old time hot rodders thought up a lot of ideas that never made it past the what if stage!!!!!!

    No, really, I never heard of them. I remember hearing about the rat fink, but I don't know what it looked like. Sounds like I missed out. It would be cool if one of the sports channels did a documentary on them.
