    1998 chevy s10 parts

I need help scoring pitman arms for my 98 chevy s10 (reg. 2 wheel drive). I've checked AutoZone, PepBoys, and Advance Auto Parts in the Austin, TX area and no one seems to carry them! What's up with that?!

Can anyone help a old soldier down on his luck, and point'im in the right direction?

    Thanks fellas.

I can't trade in my pick'em up truck man! You must of lost yo dang mind!

Seriously though, I checked out what those folks had to say and I'd have to disagree with them. My Chevy has been very reliable. I'm pushing 87K miles on 'er and she's never given me any mechanical problems, other then your usual wear and tear (belt, tires, brakes, etc.) So, I intend to keep this little truck until falls apart on me.

How dare Streets ask a Texan to give up his truck! Another act of Northern Aggression!

You say 'pitman arms' - you only have one, attached to the steering box. you can bend 'em, but i don't think you can wear one out.

it's cousin is the idler arm, and they can wear out and should be readily available at an auto parts store.

you can try a junk yard, umm, auto recycler.

or the dealer...there are mail order dealers athat are TONS cheaper than your local one. I was (still am) trying to get my hands on a trans vacuum switch and locally it is $36 + tax. Mail order $27 to my door. If it quits raining i'm going to the pick-n-pull and find one for $5 (i hope)

Now if you mean a-arms, that is sorta completely different, but you should only need the bushings, and they are available and cheap.
